Born out of Toronto’s historical Distillery District, Mill Street has grown into a national beer brand. Mill Street chooses locations that, like the first Toronto brewpub, evoke heritage charm. The Costigan House, built in 1893, has hosted a variety of nightclubs over the years and has remained a nightlife destination for Calgarians; it was the ideal place for Mill Street’s entrance into the market. The heritage appeal of the building and its original elements were maintained while code compliance was updated. Brickwork and floor to ceiling windows achieved a traditional yet modern appeal while allowing a transparent and honest view of brewery operations.
